Mueller State Park June 3, 2007

A hike into Mueller State Park found a male American Three-toed Woodpecker. Other birds found included Swainson's Thrushes, Hermit Thrushes, Spotted Towhees, Wilson's Warblers, Pine Siskins, Red Crossbills, and a Townsend's Solitaire. Mostly it was an uneventful day.

I searched briefly for the Chestnut-sided Warblers and Baltimore Orioles previously reported in the Louviers area; without success.

Near sunset, I drove the DIA Owl Loop. Burrowing Owls were found:

7 @ 3.4 miles east of Tower Road & 96th avenue

3 @ Powhaton Road & 128th avenue

1 @ Tower Road, 0.2 miles north of 56th avenue
